Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Joint Compass website and to official Joint Compass applications and related services published by Steady Flow, LLC. Some features may differ by platform. A provision applies only where the described feature or practice is actually available.

Joint Compass is built as a public educational resource. Its purpose is to help people learn about military service, preparation, career pathways, testing, readiness, and related opportunities without creating unnecessary barriers to access.

Effective date: August 12, 2026.

No Account or Payment Required

Joint Compass does not require you to create an account, establish a user profile, provide a password, purchase a subscription, or make a payment to use its educational resources.

The current service does not process payments for access. If Joint Compass later offers a way to make voluntary donations, a donation will not be a condition of access. Any payment processor and related data practices will be disclosed when that feature is made available.

Information Stored on Your Device

Joint Compass uses browser storage, including local storage and session storage, to support features such as branch selection, study state, exam progress, workflow selections, orientation state, and similar preferences.

This information is generally stored on your own device rather than in a Joint Compass user account. You can remove locally stored information by clearing site data through your browser or device settings. Clearing that information may reset saved progress or preferences.

Joint Compass currently does not use cookies or IndexedDB for the cross-browser platform.

Calculators and Study Inputs

Information you enter into Joint Compass study tools and readiness calculators is used to produce the requested result or learning experience. Current calculator forms operate within the browser and are not account registration or personal-information submission forms.

Joint Compass does not use calculator entries to create a personal profile or to make an official military eligibility, medical, fitness, accession, or selection determination.

Technical Information

Like most websites, Joint Compass infrastructure may automatically process limited technical information when a request reaches the service. Ordinary web-server access and error logs may include information associated with a request, such as an IP address, requested resource, date and time, browser or user-agent information, referring information, response status, and similar operational details depending on server configuration.

This information may be used to deliver the service, diagnose errors, maintain reliability, investigate abuse, and protect the security of Joint Compass and its users. Log retention may vary according to operational and security needs.

Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

Joint Compass currently does not use advertising trackers, behavioral advertising systems, or third-party analytics SDKs on the cross-browser platform.

Joint Compass does not sell personal information and does not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Device Permissions

The current cross-browser platform does not request access to your camera, microphone, or geographic location and does not use push notifications.

Joint Compass includes optional text-to-speech features. On supported browsers, speech output uses the device or browser speech-synthesis capability to read displayed content aloud.

Future official applications may use platform-specific capabilities only when a feature requires them. Any material change in permissions or data handling will be reflected in the applicable platform disclosures and this policy as appropriate.

Support Communications

If you voluntarily contact support@jointcompass.com, Joint Compass receives the email address, message contents, and other information you choose to provide. That information may be used to respond, troubleshoot a problem, maintain appropriate support records, protect the service, or address the matter described in your communication.

Do not send sensitive personal information that is not necessary for your support request.

External Resources and Services

Joint Compass links to official military, government, recruiting, educational, health, veterans, and other external resources. Following an external link takes you to a service that Joint Compass does not control. The external service's own privacy practices apply to your activity there.

Some Joint Compass pages currently request font resources from Google Fonts. When your browser requests those resources, the request is made to Google's servers and is subject to Google's own privacy and security practices.

Links to Apple and Google may also be provided for access to official Joint Compass applications. App-store operators may independently process account, device, download, or transaction information under their own policies. Joint Compass does not control app-store-level processing.

Sharing of Information

Joint Compass does not operate a business model based on selling user data. We may disclose limited information when reasonably necessary to operate or secure the service, comply with applicable law or lawful legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate misuse, or work with service providers performing functions on our behalf.

Service providers are used only as appropriate to the services they perform. External websites linked as informational sources are not Joint Compass data-sharing partners merely because a link to them appears on the platform.

Children's Privacy

Joint Compass is a general-audience educational resource and is not directed to children under 13. Joint Compass does not knowingly collect personal information through user accounts from children under 13 because the service does not currently provide user accounts.

If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information directly to Joint Compass through a support communication, contact support@jointcompass.com so the matter can be reviewed.

Security

Joint Compass uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information it handles. Current website protections include encrypted HTTPS connections and security controls intended to restrict unnecessary browser permissions and network behavior.

No online system can guarantee absolute security. Joint Compass therefore limits the amount of personal information it asks users to provide and designs core learning features to function without centralized user accounts where practical.

Your Choices and Privacy Requests

You can use Joint Compass without creating an account. You can clear locally stored study state and preferences through your browser or device settings, choose whether to follow external links, and choose whether to contact support.

Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide additional rights concerning personal information. Because Joint Compass does not maintain centralized user accounts or user profiles, there may be little or no account-level information associated with an individual user.

Future Official Applications

Joint Compass may be distributed through official iOS, Android, desktop, or other application platforms. The goal is to provide the same free educational product through additional delivery methods.

Before a new application or materially different feature is released, Joint Compass may update platform-specific privacy disclosures to reflect the permissions, storage, service providers, and data flows actually used by that version. This policy is not intended to describe a feature that has not yet been released as though it already exists.

Changes to This Policy

Joint Compass may update this Privacy Policy as the platform develops, laws change, or new delivery methods and features are introduced. Material changes will be reflected by updating the policy and its effective date.
