Acceptance and Scope

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the Joint Compass website and, when released, official Joint Compass applications and related services published by Steady Flow, LLC.

By using Joint Compass, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may discontinue use of the service.

Effective date: August 12, 2026.

Purpose

Joint Compass is a free public educational resource intended to make military knowledge, preparation resources, service information, career pathways, readiness information, and related opportunities easier to understand and access.

Joint Compass is intended to help service members, applicants, prospective applicants, families, veterans, students, career changers, educators, and members of the public better understand military service and preparation.

Independent Resource

Joint Compass is independently operated by Steady Flow, LLC. It is not the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, a Military Department, Military Service, recruiting command, Military Entrance Processing Station, federal agency, or other government entity.

References to the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Veterans Affairs, and other government organizations are informational and do not imply sponsorship, endorsement, approval, or official status.

Official Guidance Controls

Joint Compass organizes and explains information from public and official sources, but military requirements, programs, policies, standards, dates, scoring systems, eligibility rules, benefits, career fields, and procedures can change.

Current statutes, regulations, official publications, service policies, recruiting guidance, MEPS determinations, medical authorities, program offices, and other authorized government sources control whenever they differ from Joint Compass.

Users should verify consequential decisions through the appropriate current official source.

No Guaranteed Military Outcome

Joint Compass does not guarantee an examination score, enlistment, commissioning, appointment, accession, program selection, recruiter acceptance, waiver approval, medical qualification, fitness qualification, security clearance, occupational assignment, duty assignment, benefit, promotion, training result, graduation, employment, or any other military or government outcome.

Eligibility and selection decisions belong to the authorized agencies and officials responsible for those decisions.

Educational Tools and Calculators

Practice questions, assessments, study plans, readiness calculators, pathway tools, score estimates, comparisons, and other interactive features are educational tools.

A result produced by Joint Compass is not an official military score, medical determination, body-composition determination, fitness assessment, qualification decision, waiver decision, or eligibility determination.

Users remain responsible for reviewing the current official standard applicable to their situation.

No Professional Advice

Joint Compass provides general educational information and does not provide individualized legal, medical, financial, tax, mental-health, or other professional advice.

Information about health, injuries, readiness, benefits, finances, eligibility, legal requirements, or similar matters should not replace advice or determinations from an appropriately qualified professional or authorized official when one is required.

Free Access

Joint Compass does not require an account, subscription, or payment to use its educational resources.

Joint Compass may later provide a way for users to voluntarily support the project through donations. A donation will not be required to access the core educational service.

Future Applications and Distribution Platforms

Joint Compass may be distributed through official iOS, Android, desktop, or other application platforms. Those applications are intended to provide the same educational service through additional delivery methods.

Additional terms imposed by Apple, Google, another application marketplace, operating-system provider, or distribution platform may apply to downloads or use through that platform.

Platform-specific requirements apply only where the corresponding application or feature is actually available.

Acceptable Use

You may use Joint Compass for lawful personal, educational, informational, and professional-development purposes.

You may share links to Joint Compass and use reasonable portions of its original educational material for ordinary noncommercial discussion, study, teaching, or reference when attribution is appropriate.

You may not use Joint Compass to attack or disrupt the service, defeat security controls, obtain unauthorized access, impersonate Joint Compass or a government organization, falsely imply official endorsement, distribute malware, conduct abusive automated activity, or unlawfully copy, sell, or republish substantial proprietary portions of the platform as your own product or database.

Intellectual Property and Source Materials

Joint Compass contains original software, design, organization, explanations, educational material, graphics, databases, and other content created or assembled by Steady Flow, LLC. Those materials remain protected to the extent provided by applicable law.

Government publications, military names and marks, third-party trademarks, photographs, linked resources, and other third-party materials remain subject to the rights, restrictions, licenses, and rules applicable to their respective owners or sources.

Citation, reference, or linking by Joint Compass does not transfer ownership of third-party material to Joint Compass and does not imply endorsement by the referenced organization.

External Links and Sources

Joint Compass links to military, government, recruiting, educational, veterans, health, and other external resources to help users verify or explore information.

Joint Compass does not control external websites and is not responsible for their availability, content, security, policies, or subsequent changes. Following an external link is the user's choice.

Accuracy and Updates

Joint Compass works to provide accurate and useful information, but no educational resource can guarantee that every item will always be complete, current, or error-free.

Joint Compass may correct, update, reorganize, add, or remove content and features as official information changes or the platform develops.

Users are encouraged to report suspected errors to support@jointcompass.com.

Service Availability

Joint Compass may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, security work, hosting problems, software changes, network failures, or circumstances outside its control.

Steady Flow, LLC does not guarantee uninterrupted or permanent availability of every page, feature, data source, link, application, or delivery method.

Disclaimer of Warranties

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Joint Compass is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

Steady Flow, LLC does not warrant that the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, completely current, or suitable for every user's individual circumstances.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Steady Flow, LLC and the persons involved in operating Joint Compass will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use Joint Compass.

Joint Compass is an educational resource. Users remain responsible for decisions made using information from the platform and for confirming consequential requirements through authorized official sources.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Privacy

Use of Joint Compass is also subject to the Joint Compass Privacy Policy, which explains how information is handled across the website and official Joint Compass applications.

Restriction of Misuse

Joint Compass may restrict technical access when reasonably necessary to protect the service, investigate abuse, prevent attacks, comply with law, or stop conduct that materially interferes with other users.

Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated as Joint Compass develops, laws change, or new applications, features, or delivery methods are introduced.

Updated Terms will be posted with a revised effective date. Continued use after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Severability

If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
